The actor may not have yet got a chance to work in a movie but he surely has now got a filmy character to play in Zee's upcoming serial Waaris. Let's see what this talented actor has to say about his new show and many more.
Q. Can you brief us the story of Waaris?
A. It's a story of a family with some emotions in it, not like any other soap's family where the kitchen politics takes place. Everything revolves around the characters in the family and the backdrop of the family is making money by not the usual but in a different way. It has shades of underworld in it.
Q. What character you play in Waaris?
A. My character's name is Shankar. He is a family man, slightly brash, loves his family, respects his father and believes in taking his father's business ahead.
Q. What one thing about the serial attracted you the most?
A. The whole story idea of the show and also my character which is very interesting and has got a lot of shades.
Q. Did you have to make any kind of special preparation for this role?
A. I did not meet Dawood Ibrahim or Chotta Shakil. There is nothing like that, I am an actor I know how to do my job.
Q. All television serials start with a new concept but after few episodes they all become the same, what is your say on that?
A. I always say this and now also I say that when I was doing Choona Hai Aasmaan, I told the press that if that happens I will quit the show and that's why I left that show. Now also I say the same thing that as long as they remain fixed with the territory of the show I am in it or else I will leave it.
Q. How was it working with Ashish Vidyarthi?
A. Its great working with him. I think he is a great professional and a lovely human being. Whenever we have scenes together we have a lot of fun.
Q. Any kind of tips from him?
A. No we always discuss the scenes together before going for the shot. And in terms of tips I think he believes that an actor should be given freedom to do his work and I too believe in that.
Q. What kind of roles you would like to play?
A. I am an actor and I believe that I can play any character I want.
Q. Any dream role?
A. No dream role. I believe that dream role only happens when you play it and it becomes a success.
Q. Any films in your kitty...
A. No, nothing yet. I am happy doing whatever I am having in my kitty. At the same time, I am looking forward for a nice script to take on films but nothing has come across yet. As of now being a television actor, I am stuck to this project and will think of films only after some months. - Sabir Rahman
