22nd August is turning out to be one hot Friday!!

With 8th August seeing the release of SINGH IS KINNG, 15th August boasting of twin biggies in the form of BACHNA AE HASEENO and GOD TUSSI GREAT HO and the month of September expected to be dull for the box office due to the 'shraddh' period, 22nd August and to an extent 29th August are the only viable dates for the number of other films which are lined up for release.

Last one heard, Tusshar Kapoor starrer C Kkompany and UTV production MUMBAI MERI JAAN (Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Madhavan, Paresh Rawal) are already confirmed to arrive on 22nd August.

Moreover, even MAAN GAYE MUGHAL-E-AZAM (Rahul Bose, Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal, Kay Kay Menon) and CHAMKU (Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Danny Denzongpa) are eyeing the same day release.

With a heavy inflow of movies on 22nd August, are other makers looking at their films being postponed? Doesn't look like! On being contacted, Tusshar Kapoor, whose C Kkompany comes after the success of ONE TWO THREE says, "C Kkompany is certainly coming in 22nd August. There won't be any change in plans."

Ready for release for a couple of months now, C Kkompany was earlier slated to arrive in the month of June but had it's release date pushed when SARKAR RAJ was confirmed for 6th June arrival.

At that time Tusshar had stated, "There is no point in us bringing C Kkompany on the same day as SARKAR RAJ since Balaji Motion Pictures has stakes in both the films. We have the worldwide distribution rights of SARKAR RAJ whereas C Kkompany is our home production.

It wouldn't have made for a sound decision to bring both our films on the same day."

Now after quite some wait, Ekta Kapoor has no plans to postpone C Kkompany further. Also, 29th August isn't too light in itself since both ROCK ON (Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny, Koel Puri, Shahana Goswami) and HIJACK (Shiney Ahuja, Esha Deol, Kaveri Jha) are already confirmed for release on that Friday.

With 5 films lined up for release on the same day - PHOONK, C Kkompany, MUMBAI MERI JAAN, MAAN GAYE MUGHAL-E-AZAM and CHAMKU - paying public has a lot to pick and choose from.
