Tamil thespian Rajnikant's elder daughter Aishwarya is all set to direct a film, sources close to her said Friday.

'Already a homemaker, Aishwarya wants to create her own space in the tinsel world. Thanks to her experience in helping brother-in-law Selvaraghavan direct his forthcoming venture 'Aayirathil Oruvan' starring Karthi and Reema Sen, she has decided to take the plunge, ' a source told.

'When the unit of Aayirathil was initially cool towards Aishwarya because of her introverted nature, her hubby's brother Selvaraghavan advised her to earn her respect from the industry by mixing with the industry's hoi polloi like her father, ' said one of Aishwarya's colleagues, who works behind the camera.

While Dhanush may bankroll Aishwarya's debut, he may not be in it since he has no dates for the next two years, family sources added.

Aishwarya is married to Dhanush, Selvaraghavan's younger sibling and son of director Kasthoori Raja. The couple has a son, Yatra.

Aishwarya's younger sister Saundarya is already a producer and inked a deal with Warner Bros to produce an animated venture 'Sultan the Warrior', starring Rajnikant.
