The film reportedly budgeted at Rs. 100 crore also starring Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Suniel Shetty had a long shooting schedule concluded in the Bahamas but the differences between the no nonsense actor and the debutant director began cropping up from the film's first schedule held at Bangkok a few months back.
A source close to Dutt informs, "Sanjay Dutt had opted for Ashtavinayak's Blue out of many projects even though it was to be directed by a debutant director Tony.
Tony comes from and ad filmmaking background and is not well versed with the functioning of Bollywood films. He was taking a lot of time on sets to get it all ready during the Bangkok shoot and Dutt who is nowadays giving prime importance to punctuality on sets was more often made to sit twiddling his thumbs.
This all would further lead to delay of the end of day's shoot making Dutt lose his patience more as he would be expecting to spend more time with his newly wedded wife, Manyata then.
Dutt maintained his cool for sometime but then blew his fuse on Tony one day. From that day on both are rarely seen talking to each other beyond professional formalities on the sets.
For the Bahamas shooting schedule too Tony managed to irk Dutt yet again while shooting a stunt sequence. The stunt went wrong and Dutt and Akshay who was also part of it were saved at the last minute by the film's cameraman.
Dutt was always apprehensive about doing that stunt in a particular way and had suggested they should have tried it in a safer way but Tony it seems had insisted on going ahead with the dangerous stunt the way he wanted.
Dutt obliged as Tony was the director of the film but after it went wrong he lambasted him on the sets. Now there is some more shooting of the film left to be completed in Mumbai, one hopes nothing more goes wrong between the two."
