Q. Tell us something about Saas Bahu aur Sensex.
A. Saas Bahu aur Sensex is an urban comedy. It's a film which deals with various subjects like it's got a bit of relationship, bit of sensex and it also has a bit of the way the society is changing. Today's women are slowly shifting their focus from their daily work and getting more and more interested in shares and stock market.
Q. What character you play in this film?
A. I play the character of a young fresh graduate called Nithya, who is today's girl, a modern young girl who has just come out of her college. She has come from broken family.
It also revolves around her relationship with her mother and her relationship with her friends while there's is a little bit of romantic angle too. It's a character oriented film.
Q. What made you to accept the film?
A. I really liked the story of the film and my character. At first I was a bit apprehensive about accepting the film but later I accepted it.
Q. Is it true that there was a spat between you and the director?
A. I don't want to talk about this now as we are promoting the film and want to keep away with any of my bad experiences. These things happen. I am trying to put these things behind and move ahead with good things around. Our film is about to release and I hope that it does well.
Q. How do you take the comments fired on you by various people about you been unprofessional?
A. I don't actually care for any comment. There are some people who feel insecure and start spreading all these kind of news. I work with full dedication and don't care what others say.
People just want to take away all the credit for themselves. So many things keep happening and I can't keep reacting to all.
There's always something or the other being written about me in media. I just read all those rubbish articles in the newspaper and throw it away.
But there are some genuine people who know better about professionalism and don't get insecure. Working with them is very wonderful and I would like to work with them again and again.
Q. How was it working with the entire cast and especially under the banner of internationally acclaimed Warner Brothers?
A. It was excellent. It is their first release in India with an Indian film and they are very wonderful to work with. They give great support as a producer. They are very neutral in handling all kinds of situations.
Q. How did the film happen to you?
A. Warner Bros. have done a lot of Google search and wanted the kind of actors who have commercial value. They found my profile, liked it and approached me. At first I hesitated a little before accepting the film. The film being an off beat one made me a little apprehensive to go with it.
But then I decided that I should try films with different journo and accepted the offer. I found it a good chance to try something different and since it was a kind of a life time opportunity, I decided to take it up.
Q. Any special message we are going to get in this film?
A. The film has a very light treatment and is a comedy. The movie shows the changing face of the society we live in today. The women are getting smart and taking part in all kinds of work. Basically it is an overview of our society.
Q. How much of the daily soap effect is there in this film?
A. A little bit of it, you can say. It has been made in a sporty way with lot of comic sense in it. There is a bit of spoof in that.
Q. What is the USP of the film?
A. The story. It is something which is not done before. All I can say is that everything is interesting and all the characters are adorable.
Q. You expectations with this film?
A. Expectations are high and I want that the film gets noticed and appreciated by all. I am 100% sure that a large section will appreciate the film. There is no big star in this film but still I am sure people will like it.
Q. What kind of roles you think you are comfortable in?
A. I want to play different kind of roles. I like experimenting so I would try out different things to prove myself. I would like to do those things which give me free space to show my capacity and my talent and at the same time allow me to do new things in my own way.
Q. Your up coming projects...
A. I am doing Rama the Saviour with Khali. It's a children's film which is getting released this September and then I am doing Asthavinayak's Run Bhola Run with Govinda and it is too early to speak about that film right now. - Sabir Rahman
