T-Series recently released the music of the much-awaited Sunil Shetty Raveena Tandon starrer ‘Ek Hindustani'. Mark Films International has presented this film produced by Amar Sharma under the banner of Vivek Arts. The film is directed by Tinnu Anand, music composed by Anand Raaj Anand and lyrics by Late Anand Bakshi.

The album begins with Chori Chori Dil Diya Tha rendered by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The song is just a soothing romantic number. The music is different because it is not of the latest genre and lyrics just okay. The second in line is Aap Mujhe Achchay Lagne Lage for which the lyric is penned by Praveen Bhardwaj and music composed by Daboo Malik. Udit Narayan with Anuradha Paudwal render the voice. The song is just passable romantic.

Sone Waale Neend Se Jage is the next number of the album, but this time the genre of both the lyric and music is different from the previous. Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik and Anand Raaj Anand himself render the song. In fact the title of the song should have been ‘he rama re', since it is the most heard line in the song.

Yaaron Ka Dil Todke is the next, which has a Punjabi tint. The music is fast paced but does not gel with the lyric. Ramshankar and Rajlakshmi have rendered their voice for the song. The next song begins with a dialogue by Tinnu Anand. The song is kind of a patriotic song devoted to India. Along with Tinnu Anand, Anand Raaj Anand has rendered their voice for ‘Ye Fauji Jung Mein Jeeta'.

The following number is a soft romantic song. It seems to be a typical ‘roothna-manana' song. Chalo Achchha is rendered in the voice of Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurty. Dilruba Nakhrewali is a song to tease the heroine and also asking for forgiveness from the sweetheart. The song is a solo by Udit Narayan.

The next is the sad version or extension of ‘Aap Mujhe Achchhay Lagne Lage', basically a parting song. Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamurty sing the song, which is a very small affair. The album concludes with Mohabbat Ko Hum Chhod Dein by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. It is a soulful light romantic song.

All in all, Ek Hindustani has okay songs; they might not be picked by freak out youth but may be liked by others. The album is different since it does not have the taste of today, which might be a toss.
