Aishwarya Rai has been dropped from actor Atul Agnihotri`s directorial venture Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha in which she was supposed to play Salman Khan's onscreen ladylove. While the reason for Ash's exit from the project is not yet clear, speculation is rife that Ash herself walked out of the film because of personal reasons.

Karisma Kapoor has been roped in to take Ash's place in the film. Atul has also added chirpy Preity Zinta to the project, albeit for a mere guest appearance. Atul, who is Salman's jeeja in real life, is also toying with the idea of changing the film's title before it goes on the floors next month.

Ash's intimate relationship with Bollywood's famous shirt-doffing Khan has been on the rocks recently – Salman's rude behavior being the cause of continuous public embarrassment for her. Ash's departure from Atul's the film is also seen as a befitting reply to Salman who had earlier walked out of Rohan Sippy's Kuch Na Kaho in which he was to play Ash's lover
