It is all because as an unique experiment, the makers of the Padosan remake are going to maintain the same evergreen songs from the original for the remake.
The original film's music given by the late R.D. Burman is still very popular, especially the songs like Bindu Re Bindu and Ek Chatur Naar.
Director Neeraj Vora states, "We will change some tracks so that it won't look outdated but we will look to re-create melody of that songs.
It is not going to be an easy thing to do but the songs will be mixed and we might add some new songs. It's too early to comment on these things so let's see but yes I'm very excited to direct this film as it will have a different flavour of comedy."
A Shemaroo Films (producers of the remake) official told us, "We are in talks with Pritam to give music for this remake. The film will remain the same with all the humour which was present."
Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Kishoreda, Ritiesh Deshmukh Bhola (which was played by late Sunil Dutt), Katrina Kaif Bindu (Saira Bano) while the role of Mehmood's Master Pillai will be played by Paresh Rawal so the film will have great combination of comedy."
Meanwhile, the shooting of the film which was halted due to Sanjay Dutt's court case will restart in 2009.
Katrina Kaif is very excited about the film. A source close to her tells us, "She will be playing the role of Bindu in the remake. The shooting will start when she finishes all her prior commitments.
Most likely it will take place in early 2009. Katrina is very excited to essay the role of Bindu which Saira Banu had played in classic. This film is her one of her favourites."
Further, the source adds, "2009 will be very busy for Katrina as she will be shooting for the Welcome sequel in which she is having a small role, remake of Amar, Akbar and Anthony, Partner 2 and now this Padosan remake.
Currently she is in the U.S shooting for a Yash Raj film. She will be joined by John and Neil Nitin Mukesh and will be back in India after a month."
