Antara Mali isn`t your average run-of-the-mill Bollywood actress. Song-and-dance routines do not excite her, but she is making waves all right with the promos of her forthcoming film, Road, produced by mentor Ram Gopal Varma. The girl has switched off her mobile just in case there are queries from directors. Now where have you heard that before? "If somebody wants to speak to me, the cellular is not the only source surely," she argues.

When asked about the odd casting of her next film opposite Rajpal Yadav, tentatively titled Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, she shoots back, " Didn`t I always say I want to do unusual characters and films - I wasn`t bullshitting, please?" The film, to be directed by erstwhile Ramu editor Chandan, will be co-produced by 20th Century Fox.

The 20-something actress sure has her priorities right - one or two films at a time, great banners, great directors and not being answerable to anybody on the phone - be it her fans, producers or even a big time directors. Didn`t we tell you, Antara is different!
