Tanushree, Ankur, Masumeh - There are quite a few youngsters that Farooq Sheikh is working with in SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX.

After working with actors of the calibre of Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Patil, Rekha, Shah Rukh Khan and other acclaimed actors, does he see any change in the current generation in the way they approach cinema, especially so since he himself is facing the camera for the big screen after 15 years?

"What does merit have to do with age", Farooq Sheikh questions back, "You can be young and still have good talent and merit to boast. On the other hand you could be old and still fail to deliver.

Seriously, it doesn't work that way. Of course, what I admire in these youngsters is that they are much better informed. They have a good awareness about the medium of cinema and are technically quipped as well.

Moreover, a much easier exposure to International cinema helps as well."

"The setup of SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX was pretty enjoyable to be a part of", reveals Farooq Sheikh, "We had people across age groups and other than the young ones that you mention, we also had actors like Kirron Kher, Lillette Dubey and Sharon Prabhakar. So as you can see, we had a wide range of actors coming together for the film."

Talking about the director of the film, Shona Urvashi, Farooq Sheikh says fondly, "She is a young woman with very good sensibilities. I in fact got nostalgic working with her since she has this simple way of narrating a tale, just like Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee who were greats in their own right.

With people who are just like you and me and relationships which are absolute humane, SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX is as close to reality, and yet entertaining, as one could expect."

Presented by Warner Bros., SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX was earlier planned for a 12th October release but is now confirmed for 19th September arrival. - Joginder Tuteja
