When Faroooq Sheikh decided to make a comeback on the big screen (though he vehemently denies Saas Bahu Aur Sensex as a comeback per se and insists that he was always around), he always knew that he would do so with a quality film.

Something which is entertaining but definitely not frivolous and has it's sensibilities in the right place. Though there are countless comedies being brought to screen practically every fortnight, Farooq Sheikh didn't want to join the bandwagon. Instead he waited for a film like Saas Bahu Aur Sensex to come his way.

"And I am so glad to have chosen this project over anything else since the film doesn't resort to below-the-belt humor", remarks Farooq Sheikh who has been attached to his audience through the medium of television, courtesy chat show 'Jeena Issi Ka Naam Hai', "The way (director) Shona Urvashi has made Saas Bahu Aur Sensex, it reminded me of the kind of cinema that Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee made once upon a time."

"I also like the fact that in this film, there aren't any heroes or heroines per se. Whether it is Tanushree (Dutta), Ankur (Khanna), Masumeh, Kirron (Kher) or me - all of us are just the characters out there in the script who come face to face with each other", he adds.

Talking about the film, Farooq Sheikh reveals, "I want to end this speculation that Kirron Kher and me play a married couple in the film.

No, we don't. In fact Kirron is a housewife, who along with a bunch of other housewives belonging to varied age groups has this thing in mind about making quick and easy money.

Sensex is on a boom and they feel that making money is a cakewalk in the growing Indian economy. This is when they approach this upright, honest and an eccentric stockbroker, who is me!"

Coming back to Saas Bahu Aur Sensex, it appears to be set as a light hearted fun film in spite of Sensex being a theme running in the background. So where does the laugh factor come from?

"I can safely say that Saas Bahu Aur Sensex is an earthquake of laughter. I play the character of a man who doesn't want to work with women and here he has a horde of women approaching him to guide him.

Yes, I do guide them well but all this while, I am unnerved and agitated as I am clearly upset about being forced to be dealing with women", smiles Farooq Sheikh.
