Her second release My Friend Ganesha Part 2 did not click the way the first part had but Bhairavi Goswami who played the lead opposite Harsh Chhaya in the film is happy that at least she has been able to prove with her acting prowess in a deglamorised role as a housewife in the film that she is not just yet another glamour puss in Bollywood.

"I think I have arrived in Bollywood with this film which boasted of my truly best role till date", she quips when I meet her for this interview at the office of Baba Films which has produced My Friend Ganesha Part 2.

Bhairavi confesses that since she shot for My Friend Ganesha Part 2, she has become a devotee of Sidhi Vinayak.

I am proud that I was a part of the film My Friend Ganesha Part 2 because it was the only film whose mahurat shot was taken in the precincts of the Sidhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai, that too at the dot of 5 a.m.

Bhairavi admits that she did not have to do any home work to get into the skin of her character as Anmita in My Friend Ganesha Part 2 for the simple reason that she was cast along with seasoned actors like Harsh Chhaya and Upasana Singh.

"It was nothing but team effort. Rajiv S. Ruia who directed My Friend Ganesha Part 2 knew exactly what I could do in spite of the fact that unlike Karan Razdan, Rajiv did not know my plus points and minus points as an actor.

I am glad that though comedy is my forte as an actor, it was an effortless performance by me in the film, in which I was shown fighting all the time with my husband Harsh Chhaya."

Bhairavi has a grouse with the media

. "I am very upset that my glamour has been limited to just the Page 3 in Mumbai. People who have not seen me with my cleavage oozing do not at all relate to me with that sleazy image.

Even when I made my debut with Bheja Fry, I could leave an impact with my performance as the dumb girl next door with her dog. Though My Friend Ganesha Part 2 is my second release after Bheja Fry,I have four more films up my sleeves as an actor"

The films which she has on the floors are Kachcha Limboo directed by Sagar Bellare who had directed Bheja Fry, Mr Bhatti On Chutti directed by Karan Razdan, in which I have been teamed opposite a seasoned performer like Anupam Kher, Kal Kisne Dekha directed by Vivek Sharma, who had earlier directed Bhootnath and last but not the least My Daddy Strong directed by Rahul Kapoor, the son of the veteran actor Bharat Kapoor in which my co-star is Kumar Gaurav."

Bhairavi is quite charged and excited about her role in Kal Kisne Dekha, which according to her is quite similar to the one played by Sushmita Sen in Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na.

"I play this character called Sonia 'Hot'chandani. Kal Kisne Dekha is being produced by Vashu Bhagnani. The film has Vashu's son Jackie Bhagnani and Manmohan Desai's grand daughter in the romantic lead.

I am confident I will be able to create waves like Sushmita did when Main Hoon Na was released, after Kal Kisne Dekha Hai is released. I am just waiting keeping my fingers crossed"

Bhairavi does not want to be bracketed as yet another item girl like Raakhee Sawant. "I do concede that Raakhee Sawant is fantastic.

I also have no qualms to accept that I cannot do as well as Raakhee when it comes to strutting my stuff. I cannot even do 10 % of what she does and hence I do not even want to make an attempt to poach in on her territory.

My USP as an actor is that she is the only model who has had the biog advantage of also having done theatre with as many as eight plays with over 600 shows in not only Hindi and Gujarati but also in English".

Bhairavi wants to earn a name as a competent actor who can be depended upon to deliver good performances in whatever role she is cast

. "I want to be as versatile like say Harsh Chhaya or for that matter Irrfan Khan is. Irrfan has shot for Ocean's 14 with none other than Brad Pitt. Irrfan in fact was even paid much more than what Shah Rukh Khan or for that matter even Salman Khan get paid for working in Hindi films here in India.

Like Irrfan Khan, even I want to do good work. I think Bheja Fry is a great example that I can cite. Bheja Fry benefited Vinay Pathak, Ranveer Sheorey and me but Sarika, Milind Soman and Rajat Kapoor did not benefit as actors after Bheja Fry." - Jyothi Venkatesh
