Bollywood's nubile actresses usually have hiccups about playing the mother on silver screen. But that doesn't seem to be the case with natty Namrata Shirodkar. Namrata, who has been more inclined towards non-glamorous roles from the beginning of her acting career, will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt's mother in Hathyar which is a sequel to Dutt's hit crime thriller Vaastav.
It may be mentioned that Namrata had played Sanjay's wife in Vaastav. Hathyar, being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, will revolve around the story of the son of the protagonist of Vaastav. The role of the son is being essayed by Sanjay Dutt again. Namrata says she had no qualms about accepting the role of Sanjay's mother. "It is an author-backed role and has a significance in the plot," she says.
Namrata doesn't sound very enthused about playing the typical glamorous bimbo. She is getting more inclined towards arty roles. As for future she is likely to bag the leading role in talented director Govind Nihalani's next film.
