Q. Having started your career with a horror flick which kind of movies are you looking forward to work in now?
A. All the roles which are been offered to me sounds to be interesting. But I am looking out for a character which is important and strong.
I never thought of starting my career with a horror flick. I chose 1920 because I had a strong character to play in it. The interesting part in this film was that in the first half I got a chance to play the role of a beautiful married housewife while in the second part I played the role of a devilish man.
Getting a chance to get into the skin of two different characters was a big thing for me. I hope I get more such roles to play in the future.
Q. What do you look upon before deciding to be the part of any project?
A. Being a newcomer I haven't set any criteria for it. I like those projects which have been beautifully penned down and listening to which I feel satisfied. I don't go ahead with a film which has a loose and complicated storyline.
Q. Your next film is also under the banner of Vikram Bhatt. Don't you want to work with any other banner?
A. It's nothing like that. I am also getting many offers from other banners. The thing is that I signed this film along with 1920 but didn't come out in open. I don't like to talk about my films before it goes on floor.
As Vikram Sir has now officially announced it that I am also talking about the same. We are scheduled to leave on 1st November for London to shoot this film.
Q. What's your character in this film?
A. Phir is a thriller based on karma. In 1920 I played the character of a matured married woman whereas in this film I am playing my age; a role of a 20 year old innocent girl. As per the contract with Vikram Bhatt, I can't speak any further about the project.
Q. Is banner important to you or your character?
A. For me, my character is much more important than the banner. While watching a film, viewers would look at me rather than the banner.
Q. Being a classical dancer are you thinking to do a film based on dance in the future?
A. I am getting a lot of offers but I am looking out for a film in which I get a chance to showcase my dancing talents. I am also doing gymnastics since three years now. Along with it I am doing graduation in Kathak. For me dance is a passion and I can't waste my talent.
Q. Along with you many other new faces entered Bollywood this year but apart from you non other tasted success. Has this enhanced your confidence?
A. Since my first interview I was telling people that 1920 would prove to be the biggest hit of this year.
I am happy to see new faces entering the world of Bollywood but it's sad that those new comers have failed to do prior preparations required before working in a film. Whereas I have worked hard before entering this industry due to which I am very confident about myself.
Q. Did you always wanted to become an actress?
A. Not at all. Infact every week my desires have to change. Sometimes I wanted to work in a circus while sometimes I thought of becoming an architect. I wanted to try my hands in many fields and maybe because of that in the end I became an actress. - Rajnee Gupta
