Since experienced heroines usually shy away from working with him (expect for Mallika who does it for the money and Urmila who desperately needs a hit), he always loves to launch new girls.
First he gave child actress Hansika Motwani a break in his first movie 'Aap ka Suroor' and this time it is director Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta Kumar in 'Karzzz'.
As for Hansika, though the movie was a surprise success, it really didn't help her case much. Probably people felt that she looked best with old heroes only. She only got 'Money Hai to Honey Hai' opposite Govinda who's old enough to actually play her father and currently has no new exciting movie coming up.
Himesh's new girl Shweta however isn't worried and super excited about her debut. Maybe she thinks Himesh's mere presence and aggressive marketing will make the movie a hit!
Never mind the fact she's looking too plain and unexciting in the promos. At least Hansika looks prettier, younger and fresher!
Seems it will be Himesh and Urmila all the way with Shweta getting overshadowed big time!
She's said, "Urmila has been one of my favourite actresses. I've grown up watching her films."
Wonder if she'll maintain her stance post the release as well! Maybe then Papa with his experience of making hits like 'Dil', 'Beta' and 'Raja' will spring to her rescue!
After Shweta, Himesh will be working with newbies Niharika Singh and Jenifer Kotwal in 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke', Mona Laizza from Pakistan in 'Kajraare' and model Shruti Agrawal in 'Hey Gujju'.
If these movie succeed, there will be probably more. So Himesh is not only recreating Rishi Kapoor's 'Monty' with 'Karzzz' but also emulating him in launching new girls.
For the uninitiated, Rishi Kapoor was famous for launching new girls in the course of his career. So like it or not, Himesh is hell bent on snatching the lover boy tag from Rishi Kapoor!
