Farhan Akhtar's acting debut Rock On has struck gold at the box office and also made him a popular actor amongst the younger generation.

His fans now await his next film as an actor – Luck By Chance which is the directorial debut of his sister, Zoya. The film is complete and is all set to release on January 23d, 2009. But it will be facing stiff competition from two major films also releasing on the same date.

Farhan's Luck By Chance will release along the much awaited Raaz sequel, tentatively titled, Raaz 2 and Anil Kapoor's next home production, the comic caper, Shortkut starring Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao in the lead. Since Farhan is also the co-producer of Luck By Chance along with his partner Ritesh Sidhwani apart from acting in it, it is definitely going to be a fight to watch out for.

A trade analyst tells us, "It is a Republic Day weekend and all these three films releasing on the same day are having diverse themes. Each one has a chance to score at the box given the long weekend."

What also make Luck By Chance stand out is the supporting cast which comprises of cameos from Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan. It also stars - Rishi Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma, Isha Sharwani, Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Kapoor and Aly Khan.
