If Julia Roberts can do it, so can apni Lolo. That is, be professional enough ‘to get under the skin of her character.' Roberts had reportedly spent six months learning to play the violin for a 40 seconder in a film!
Riding on the popularity wave once again, post Shakti, in which she has come up with a bravura performance, Karisma too is hell bent upon proving that when it comes to work, there are no compromises. When Inder Kumar wanted her to play the violin in the film Rishtey, she wanted to perfect the art of holding the musical instrument. Any other actress would have learnt it on the sets but not this gritty Kapoor girl. She insisted on learning to play it for a couple of weeks before giving her nod to the director with a ‘go ahead.' Now where have you heard that before? An actor green signaling her director with an ‘okay' for a shot to be canned?
But that's what Karisma Kapoor is all about – a thorough professional, hard working and near perfect. One can only hope that unlike the Julia Roberts sequences, which got edited on the table eventually, Lolo's genuine efforts at being dedicated to her art, doesn't go waste.
