It's the love story of a credit card company's customer service manager pretending to be an American and one of her callers!
The film does have a few different twists and turns. The heroine dares to take an adventurous trip to San Francisco without informing her parents and doesn't reveal her true identity to the hero telling him she's actually an US resident. The lovers also share a steamy kiss in the movie.
But in Bollywood style the girl's parents prove to be the deterrents. They reach America and brings her back home leaving the American hero wondering what to do next!
The makers claim the movie is not like the stereotyped crossover movies dealing with NRI families in the west.
While Metacalfe has been more famous for his Television work and B flicks like ‘John Tucker Must Die' and ‘Insanitarium', Shriya has struggled for long in B-Town with disasters such as ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam', ‘Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum', ‘Shukriya' and the more recent ‘Awarapan' and ‘Mission Istaanbul'! She has done well in the South film industry though with a biggie like ‘Sivaji-the Boss' opposite the huge superstar Rajinikant.
The director of the film James Dodson is impressed with her but it's really doubtful that the film would make Shriya an international star.
Tara Sharma reportedly plays a barely there role and Anupam Kher who has earlier acted in similar movies like ‘American Blend', ‘Bride and Prejudice' and ‘Bend it like Beckham' plays the heroine's father (again)!
The bad news is that some critics are finding it old fashioned and with an all too familiar premise!
Wonder if this flick would actually utilize the ‘exotic Indian touch' well, unlike the likes of ‘Bride and Prejudice' and ‘The Mistress of Spices' etc!
