Life took a U-turn for Amisha Patel, when despite hailing from a family of academicians, she took to a career in films. But an achiever that she is, the petite Patel wants to excel in this profession of her choice. Though the mega-hit Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai did not do much for Amisha, her subsequent releases Gadar and Humraaz, brought her well-deserved credit.

The girl, whose silky tresses only heighten her soft features, is the most promising child-woman in the cinema orbit. The actress, who has interesting projects lined up with Ajay Devgan and Aftab Shivdasani, was as a teenager most averse to make-up.Though she misses girlie dates and freaking out sessions, something which stardom does not sanction, Amisha has no complaints. Being single-minded about her career she even rules out the presence of a man to make her feel good about herself. However, the girl has her reading, painting and music to serve as stress busters in a chaotic schedule.

While its engagement time for some of her colleagues, (Karisma Kapoor and Sonali Bendre), Amisha believes in making a career while the camera clicks.
