"It is my fight to create the special place for Jewellery Designers. Earlier clothes were also picked up off the rack for films but of la6e there are special looks created for films and designs for the artiste. Fashion designers are getting their due.
But they only get the Jewellery too, which is not correct because it is a very specialised line too. I am happy that I am able to create a special place for Jewellery Designers in the film."
Punita Trrikha designed jewellery for three films' of Salman Khan- Marigold, Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya and Partner. She became so fond of the artiste, that when she was asked to do something unique with Swarovski, she could only think of making a Doli (palanquin) for the bride of Salman Khan.
This Doli is made at the cost of more than 8 lakhs and is in subdued Gold, a colour that is very much liked by Salman Khan. " I have made it with my own hands because this is my gift for him.
And until he gets married, I am going to keep in properly wrapped and packed, " she comments. And why Salman? " Because I am very fond of him and he is an extremely nice person."
Born and raised in Mumbai, Punita Trrikha was always fascinated with the world of glamour and the sparkling world of crystals. She learnt Jewelry designing in Paris from Marie Louise.
After the completion of the course, Punita got into to the world of crystal jewellery. Her first break in Bollywood as the first individual costume jewellery designer, was in Feroz Khan's film, Janasheen. Since then, Punita Trrikha has handcrafted jewellery for many Bollywood films and stars.
She threads each and every single piece of crystal herself, infusing life into her creations. Punita Trrikha is designing jewellery for many Bollywood personalities and film.
