Now he did deserve it all. His appeal hasn't faded with age and there have been many big hits in all these years.
To make the day special for him, his better half Gauri Khan threw a party for their close B-Town friends.
However the biggest treat for his fans on his birthday was the release of the promos of his ambitious upcoming Yashraj venture 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.
SRK calls it a gift from Yash Raj and old friend Aaditya Chopra.
Shahrukh is playing a common man Surinder Sahini in the film and hopes that families would love it. He says that it's a love story but not a young one like 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.'
Newcomer Anushka Sharma is opposite him and she plays a character much younger than him. SRK hopes that at the end of this movie and all his movies, a small message is passed on to the audience.
On another note, the baadshah will battle Abhishek Bachchan on Valentines Day next year.
Their big films- SRK's home production 'Billo Barber' and Abhishek's 'Dilli 6' are supposed to release a day before Valentines Day, 13th February 2008!
Actually 'Billo Barber' was previously scheduled for a Diwali 2008 release but it had to be postponed because of some production delays. Shah Rukh then planned the release for late November, but this too was suspended as he has the biggie 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' coming in early December.
Now this one sure will be an interesting battle to watch out for!
