A complainant told a film producers' forum on Tuesday, almost a week after the release of the film that it's a copy of the 1973 film 'Aaj Ki Taza Khabar.'
Reportedly Shakuntala Bhatia lodged a complaint with the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) that 'Golmaal Returns', that released on Oct 29, is a direct copy of her husband, producer Rajendra Bhatia's 'Aaj Ki Taza Khabar', which starred Kiran Kumar, Radha Saluja and Asrani.
Bhatia says that she noticed the similarities between the stories of the two movies only after she read the reviews of the film. She added that various reviewers had also noted the similarities.
She has claimed a compensation of Rs.50 million from the production company Shree Asthavinayak Cine Vision as her company Kiron Production was in the process of re-making 'Aaj Ki Taza Khabar'.
The credit for the movie's story has been given to Yunus Sajawal and it has been called a sequel to Rohit Shetty's 2006 hit, 'Golmaal.'
Well, 'Golmaal Returns' has made money but has been slammed by many critics. That's there, but we wonder where this lady was there all these years. Nobody really heard about her husband's film and not many are aware of the fact that she was planning to remake it.
Or is it just that she wants to bag some limelight and make some money from 'Golmaal Returns' success too?
