Well, for those who are wondering about the film's opening since Friday is still a few hours away, let's solve the confusion.
On Wednesday, the film released in Bihar to coincide with the festive occassion of Chatth Puja, which is considered to be quite auspicious in this part of the country. Result? The film opened to a 100% response in cities like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Begusarai and Chapra.
Says a source from Chanakya theater, Patna, "'Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi' is exceptional here and the extraordinary opening of cent percent collections has been quite a pleasant experience.
However, I won't see this as a surprise considering the fact that Barjatyas have a loyal fan following here. I am sure collections would remain steady since the film is being appreciated by one and all."
Sonu Sood is ecstatic ever since the moment he was informed about the film's success in Bihar. "I have been informed that large family crowds are watching the film and coming back fully content.
Ladies seem to be touched by the emotional content of the film and have been seen weeping after the show's conclusion. In fact the demand for the film is such that there are already talks around doubling the print count at these centers."
It was expected though that small towns and cities would lap up the film, isn't it? "That's right but I am sure even in metros the film would show a similar response.
Yet again, Barjatyas are applying the strategy of selective release across the country, hence only a handful of prints would be circulated. These people certainly know what they are doing."
Eesha adds, "Yes, Soorajji films have a loyal market, hence we were always expecting the film to take a great start. Apparently, at places where the film has already released, plans are booked till the first weekend.
People are saying ki yeh ek anokhi film hai aur ek atoot bandhan ke baare mein batati hai. I am glad the spirit of the movie has gone down well with the audience. If required, I may even visit Bihar for taking the film's promotion forward."
"It has been a great beginning this festive season and I hope it translates the same way into the rest of the country as well. We are going all out for the film's promotion and would be visiting Chandigarh today and then Delhi tomorrow", signs off Sonu. - Joginder Tuteja
