Now as Fashion has released and doing quite well for itself at the box office, fresh talent Mugdha is finding appreciation coming her way.
In fact quite a few believe that Mugdha is pretty much the find of the year so far, a compliment that she truly cherishes.
"Who would mind hearing good things about herself? It is flattering to get so many compliments even when you know that it's someone else (Priyanka) in the movie and not you on whom the spotlight is all the time", says an ever smiling Mugdha who has gone all out in promoting the film.
After giving such a good account of herself in a performance oriented role and a great body to boast, it would be criminal to have her play a second or a third lead in her subsequent films. Yes, Fashion was a good platform but doesn't she feel that from here on, she deserves to be seen only in lead roles?
Mugdha says in a soft tone while continuing to smile, "But then without a Godfather, it's not a bad start after all, isn't it? Yahan par aap akele struggle karke is level tak pahaunchte ho!
Of course, I have been a model or a supermodel, howsoever you may call me, in real life, but finding good work on your own terms in movies is a different ballgame altogether."
She goes on to add, "You have to start afresh, go through the grind, struggle for the best opportunity to come your way. This way I guess Madhurji has got a very good role rolling for me in Fashion. I am glad his conviction in me and the character paid."
How is she busy taking all the compliments?
She laughs, "From those who are in the know-how in the industry and understand how it operates, I ask them a plain and simple question - 'Do you think this would lead to me getting more and better work?'
Ultimately this is where it boils down to. You may hear good things about you but the bottom line is to know how far it takes you in your career. I am ambitious enough and Fashion has turned out to be the first stepping stone in the right direction."
