Readers may recollect that, just a few weeks back, Atul Agnihotri's pet project Hello had become the Censor's 'victim' because they had raised an objection to the onscreen usage of the word 'condom' by Gul Panag. The resultant landed up in the words being muted in the film.
Now, the 'mute button' has passed on its baton to director Rohan Sippy's forthcoming film The President Is Coming.
And the 'dialogue' that has come under the Censor's scanner goes as 'If you want to be a press officer, then you have to be scheduled caste. This is lower in status, but there are higher chances of getting a job...Reservations..."
When we spoke to Rohan Sippy about the same, he confirmed it saying "Yes. The Censor did raise an objection to the words 'schedule caste' and 'lower status'. That's the reason they have told me to mute these two dialogues."
When asked if he was unhappy with the decision, he was sweet enough to say that, "I completely agree and understand the stand that the Censor Board officials have taken regarding the dialogue in my film.
I don't have an objection to the muting decision of theirs. They (the Censor officials) have a difficult job at hand and I totally agree and abide by their decision."
All these happenings have not deterred Rohan even a bit from planning strategies for his next release, the Akshay-Deepika starrer Chandni Chowk To China, the music of which will release on 2nd December. Rohan, on the other hand, is all excited about the promos of CCTC that will get aired from tomorrow on all the leading TV channels.
