His last release, Hello, however got a surprisingly good opening and Sharman is looking forward to better times ahead. Here is a small chat with the talented actor.
Sorry Bhai – In the film, I am playing Siddharth, a young boy who is a scientist and very passionate about life.
He is happy in his small world has a loving family, comprising of mom (Shabana Azmi), dad (Boman Irani) and a great brother, played by Sanjay Suri. He likes to live life to the fullest and bring a smile to everyone's face as well as smile all the time.
Great team of Sorry Bhai – Every time I work with Shabanaji it's a great new experience. Also, Boman is a positive and happy person and is very positive, light hearted and keeps everyone in good mood.
Sanjay Suri is doing a double job in the film that's acting and producing. He handled both the roles with equal responsibility. Everyone was given a bound script and it was all sorted out very neatly.
Sanjay is one of the most pure and honest guys and it is a great experience working with him.
Missing out on Golmaal Returns – Yes I missed out doing the film but let me tell you the situation was really out of my control. Basically, it all depends on how you feel at that time.
I had to let go of GR because of genuine date problems, so I have no regrets. But, my replacement in the film, Shreyas is an able actor and has done a great job I have no animosity towards him.
One more Golmaal – Why not? I will definitely do it if Rohit approaches me. But then it again all depends on the availability of my dates.
Comedy prone – See I began my career with a serious film like God Mother. I have also done serious roles in Rang De Basanti, Metro and Raqeeb which was a dark film. I guess it's a general feeling that I am more a comic actor because of the comedies associated have been have been hits and the masses have loved me in them.
Pending films – There is one long pending film of mine titled, Bachelor. Frankly I don't know the status of the film. It is complete and my dubbing has also been done. The best person to answer about its delayed release will be its producer.
Acting pricey – I hiked my price immediately after the success of Rang De Basanti. But tell me why should I not? In today's times everyone is demanding their price. I need to make money too. So what's wrong with it?
What next – I am doing Rensil D'Silva's Toh Baat Pakki. It stars Tabu, Yuvika and Vatsal Seth. But it is too early to talk about it. Good offers have begun to come after Hello and Metro and I am being offered a nice mix of roles.
