With the trauma of the terrorist attacks on Mumbai city on 26th, 27th and 28th November still being fresh, there is divided opinion on the release schedule.
While some feel, Aditya should go ahead with the release next week, there are others who feel, he ought to postpone the films as the audience, not just in Mumbai but all over the country, is still not fully in a mood to visit cinemas.
Though there are many who opine Adi is doing the right thing by going ahead with the release of his film because the film may actually witness one of the greatest openings of all times not just because the trailers and the songs of the film are being spoken of in highly laudatory terms but also because the public, tired and depressed after watching news of the attacks and their aftermath on television screens, is actually waiting for a true entertainer to divert its mind.
Also one cannot overlook the fact that a Shah Rukh Khan film is coming to the cinema halls after a long gap of 13 months (his last release was Om Shanti Om which had hit the screens on 9th November last year).
That apart, Aditya Chopra has had a 100% hit track record, and is directing a film after eight years (his last film, Mohabbatein, was released on 27th October 2000). He also enjoys a great fan following as a filmmaker.
