SRK started doing these duplicate roles with his film,
Baazigar- where he was not actually seen as two different people it was the same person with dual personalities. He was liked and appreciated by all in Baazigar. Then in 1996 he was seen again in a double role in a not so happening film,
English Babu Desi Mem- where inspite of seeing two ShahRukh's the film did not do well in the box office. After two years came his another double dhamaka film Duplicate where he played the complete Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan types of double role, that of two brothers.
He looked good and his fans enjoyed watching him in two different roles but again the film was a disaster in the box-office. 2005 saw SRK in one of his finest performances in the film,
Paheli- where he plays a dual character one alive and one of a ghost. All those accusing him of lacking versatility had to shut their mouths.
In last three years at a stretch we see the King in duplicate roles, 2006 for Don- which was a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan classic Don.
In spite of having lots of responsibility on his shoulders due to constant comparisons with Amitabh SRK did a great job. He carried both the roles with lots of conviction. 2007 saw him in Farha Khan's grand blockbuster,
Om Shanti Om- which created waves in the box office. Can't say a double role but yes a story of reincarnation where in the first half SRK plays the character of an aspiring actor of the 70's and is reborn as a super star of the present. He once again proves that he is the actual shehanshah of bollywood.
Once again 2008's most awaited release,
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi -will see King Khan in not one but two different avatar's. He said to carry two different looks, one of a simpleton and other one of a yuppie in the movie. Loads of expectations from his fan for this movie.
We wish SRK all the luck for his release whether a hit or a miss it's always pleasure to watch King Khan perform on screen.
