In Bollywood, music of the movie plays a vital role in the success of the movie and if the songs are good then half of the battle is won.

Romance delicately woven with some enchanting music is the type of music Yashraj is famous for. In all Yash Chopra films, music is a major highlight and so is Shah Rukh who is known as their lucky mascot. Let's go through a musical journey with SRK and Yash Raj which started from 1993 in their film,

Darr- where SRK played the character of an obsessed lover, in spite of being the villain of the film the viewers loved him in his flawless performance. His unique way of saying k...k..k..k..k..k Kiran and the hit song Jaadu Teri Nazar which was sung by Udit Narayan and composed by Shiv-Hari, was something his fans would always remember him for. Then came the mega blockbuster of the year 1995,

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge-Another Yash Chopra entertainer and a film packed with catchy and hummable tunes given by Jatin-Lalit. The mega mega hit song Tujhe Dekha to Ye Jaana which was sung by Kumar Sanu and Lata Mangeshkar, a complete masterpiece was picturised on King Khan and Kajol. One of their superb performances.1997's biggest hit was

Dil To Pagal hai –where the super hit music was given by Uttam Singh. The title track and the song Arre Re Arre Re sung by Udit Narayan and Lata Mangeshkar were picturised on SRK and Madhuri Dixit. The beautiful rhythm created waves. Aditya Chopra's second film after Dilwale was

Mohabbatein- where SRK was paired opposite Ash and lots of other newcomers. The music of this film was given by Jatin Lalit. Even though it did not top the charts but the number Hamko Hami Se Chura Lo was hummable. Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan have done complete justice by lending their fine voices for the song.

After the span of almost 7 years Yash Chopra came back with SRK in Veer Zaara-The music of this film was recreated by Sanjeev Kohli, the son of yesteryear's music director Madan Mohan, whose unreleased tunes have been used for the music the film.

The song Tere Liye sung by Roop Kumar Rathod and Lata Mangeshkar was extremely melodic. Then the track Main Yahan Hoon Yahan was sung by Udit Narayan who did a wonderful job. Sonu Nigam replaces Udit Narayan in the next song, Do Pal a duet with Lata Mangeshkar.

Sonu Nigam sounds brilliant and his voice completely reflects the emotions that Javed Akhtar intended to convey with his lyrics. This song also has a very classic feel to it and should appeal any in search of a simple romantic tune.

All these songs are picturised on ShahRukh and he has given one of his best performances.

In 2007 the trademark screeching violins and raga-based compositions were replaced by 21st century loops, beats, distorted guitars and rap in

Chak De! India-where SRK was shown as the coach of the women's hockey team. The music of this film had the ingredients to appeal to the younger generation.

The title track by Salim Suleiman was a peppy and young number as it has shown to inspire the younger generation in India. Maula Mere Le le Meri Jaan was an excellent number too and one of my personal favourites.

Last but not the least the most awaited film of the year,

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi- is all set to release and once again it's the magical pair of yash Raj and SRK. The already hit number Haule Haule is the simplest and the most romantic song of 2008.

Its lyrics are so good that you happen to fall in love with the song in the first go itself. In this Hip Hop era it's the first time that you hear the harmonium used so much in the music of the song. Sukhvinder's melodious voice is SRK's voice in the film.

This was King Khan's enjoyable melodious journey with the Yash camp. As we all know SRK and Yash Raj a hundred percent hit formula and with every passing year they seem to be getting better like wine. We look forward to lots more from this hit pair in the coming years.
