Whew! Not that's quite a lot for an album that has six unique songs. While SEL and KPL have contributed with two songs, the rest have come up with a song apiece.
What made the team of CC2C to go with such an elaborate arrangements instead of just sticking to one composer?
"We had to look at every song situation and bring in variety to the proceedings", says Rohan Sippy, co-producer of CC2C, "If you hear Kailash Kher's voice, it captures the spirit of Chandni Chowk quite well in the number 'S.I.D.H.U'.
It introduces the character played by Akshay Kumar. Then there was no reason why Nikhil (Advani) wouldn't have been working with Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy since they had come up with fabulous music in KAL HO NA HO and SALAAM E ISHQ. They are excellent yet again."
Talking about the reason behind Bappi Lahiri being roped in, Rohan says fondly, "I had immensely enjoyed working with him in TAXI NO. 9211 (where he sung the song 'Bambai Nagariya')so I had to repeat the magic in CC2C as well. He has done a marvelous job in 'India Se Aaya Mera Dost', a take off on 'Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost' from AAP KI KHATIR.
Then, for the film's end credits, there is Bohemia's CC2C version which highlights Akshay Kumar's biographical part. So you know, there was a requirement of different people for different situation."
Justifying his reason behind number of people coming into the project, he elaborates, "See, the principal was the same across all the departments of the making of CC2C i.e. to work with the best of the best.
Songs here needed to have a range in order to move from Chandni Chowk to China.
This way each of the composers came up with just the perfect results since they have a fantastic feel for music. I am glad that they all understood this point and came up with a collaborative effort in this album."
