After the critical and commercial success of Chandni Bar, it was almost certain that Tabu would be heading the cast of Madhur Bhandarkar`s next film as well. Then it was Karisma Kapoor who was in the running for a brief while. But it was Raveena Tandon who eventually bagged the key role of a woman politician in Satta.

History is repeating itself in Bhandarkar`s upcoming Aan as well. And once again, Raveena is the beneficiary. Tabu was the first choice for the role, but the Hyderabadi actress could not allot the requisite bulk dates for the film. Raveena has stepped into the breach. Tabu`s ambition to repeat the Chandni Bar success story with its director will have to wait awhile.
