Producer Madhu Mathena has teamed up with his first cousin Ram Gopal Varma for Rann. Madhu Mathena said, "I could have basked in Ghajini's glory. But I thought it would be wise to move ahead with other projects.

Besides Abbas Tyrewala's John Abraham starrer called '1-800-love' the shooting of which is on in full swing, I am also now a part of Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh starrer Rann."

These two films will be for ready in first of half of the year and talks are already on for other projects with a couple of leading directors which I will announce soon."

Ram Gopal Varma clarified that it was not because of Ghajini's success that he called Mathena on board. "We always wanted to do a film together. Also I needed someone who would look after the monetary aspects and there could be nobody better then my cousin Madhu."
