Newcomer Mahi Gill who plays Paro in Anurag Kashyap's Dev D has impressed the film's producers UTV bosses so much with her act that they have signed her up for three more projects under their banner.

The beautiful actress who started her career with Punjabi movies is on a new high now.

After having completed her Masters in theatre from Chandigarh, Mahi started off with stage plays in her home town Chandigarh but like every newcomer in the acting field, she too was attracted to the glamour and glitz of the Hindi film industry.

It was writer-filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap who noticed this young girl on stage and offered her a role right away in his forthcoming movie Dev D opposite Abhay Deol.

"Anurag Kashyap has been an acclaimed filmmaker and me having seen his earlier films, I didn't have to think twice then before signing his Dev D." Mahi tells us.

Mahi who plays the character of Paro in this modern day adaptation of Devdas reveals, "My Paro is bold and brash and is ready to fight back. She is a woman of this century" reveals Mahi.

The actress reveals that she relates a lot to the role. "The character is much similar. It was a great experience working with Anurag Kashyap. He has written the role keeping me in mind." informs Mahi.

The film also stars Kalki Koechilin in the lead and has already revealed her relations with the director. When quizzed about her being left out of the promotions Mahi says "Kalki has a major role in the film. These things do not affect me. As long as the movie is being promoted well nothing else matters."

Mahi will be seen next in Anurag Kashyap's next titled Gullal. "I have performed two mujra numbers in the film which is set for a March release. I also have UTV's Aage Se Right opposite Shreyas Talpade and then I have Pan Singh Tomar with Irrfan Khan." she adds before wrapping up.
