When you talk of friends or plan to project friends on the big screen, Jai and Veeru are the names that come to your mind instantly. My film also talks of two friends, who turn foes later. I couldn't think of a better title, hence JAI VEERU."
Puneet's directorial debut I - PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN was based on real-life incidents/experiences. Is JAI VEERU also borrowed from real life?
"Oh no! JAI VEERU is a full-on entertainer, with comedy, songs, car chases and stunts and lots of glamour. It's a pure entertainer that people want to see. It's not dark like I," he clarifies.
JAI VEERU hits the screens on March 11 (Holi), followed by Puneet's next film KISAAN in April.
"This one's an emotional saga between a father (played by Jackie Shroff) and his two sons (Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan). And unlike my first two films, this one has a rural setting. It has shaped up exceedingly well," Puneet says.
