In his blog recently Bachchan described A R Rahman's Oscar sweep as the happiest day for Indians and the film industry.
The whole of Bollywood has got together to praise A R Rahman and Resul Pookutty after the duo created history on Sunday evening in Los Angeles by winning the Oscars in the categories they were nominated for.
Amitabh Bachchan became one of the first ones by commenting on his blog: "My warmest and heartiest congratulations to A.R. Rahman and Resul (Pookutty) for winning recognition in music and sound and to Gulzar for co-assisting Rahman in the lyric category."
Gulzar is credited for the lyrics of the song ‘Jai Ho' which got Rahman the Oscar for Best Song.
He added, "International recognition for Indian film talent on one of the most well-known and popular forums - this is the happiest day for Indians and the industry."
Interestingly the movie paid homage to Big B in a few portions by showing the kid Jamaal as one big fan of the superstar.
The Indian megastar was earlier in the midst of a controversy after he reportedly commented on ‘Slumdog Millionaire' becoming a success because of it being directed by a westerner.
He had later reportedly spoken with director Danny Boyle over the phone and explained that he did not mean anything derogatory about the film or the director.
Well, the turnaround has been of use for Big B as the film has gone on to create history by winning 8 Oscars and lauding Indian technicians, something many Indian films have failed to do.
