The adage of 'getting away with murder' could well hold true for Neil Nitin Mukesh. Reason?
The character played by him in his debut flick 'Johnny Gaddaar' committed not one, not two but multiple murders (and that too of his own friends and partner-in-crime) but still till the very end, audience vouched for him to stay on alive. He earned all the sympathy of the audience and even in his death towards the film's climax, he was a winner.
The man is now back to make further impression and stay on a winning track with 'Aa Dekhen Zara' (earlier titled 'Freeze') which is yet another thriller.
With Bipasha Basu as his leading lady and a debutant director Jehangir Surti at the helm of affairs, Neil Nitin Mukesh is looking forward to earning a good fan base for himself in weeks to come. As he waits for his film to release in a month from now (27th March), Neil talks about how 'Aa Dekhen Zara' is perhaps the simplest thriller ever told.
So is it true that 'Aa Dekhen Zara' touches upon supernatural elements, courtesy a mysterious camera?
"Absolutely not! 'Aa Dekhen Zara' neither touches upon supernatural elements nor is it futuristic. It is rather unfortunate that such a misconception has come up about the film but through this forum I wish to clarify that 'Aa Dekhen Zara' is far away from such elements", Neil sets the record straight.
He clarifies that at the heart of it, 'Aa Dekhen Zara' is a hardcore commercial entertainer belonging to romantic thriller genre, "Yes, it's a romantic thriller and simple one at that; possibly the simplest that one can get. Yes, it's true though that it has certain X element which is the driver of the film and story."
He goes on to elaborate about the film and his character, "The character played by me, that of Ray Acharya, comes across a camera that can show the future. Still, we are not looking at a future-future here where we go 50 years ahead into the time.
There isn't anything like that. 'Aa Dekhen Zara' is instead as interesting as Mr. India where there were gadgets, the invisibility elements and all. But then, we must remember that it was a sci-fi while ours is an interesting love story cum thriller."
Also starring Rahul Dev and Sophie Choudry in principal roles, 'Aa Dekhen Zara' has music by Pritam and Gourav Dasgupta and is all set for 27th March release.
