"In the first place I never dreamt that Shyam Benegal would ever offer me a role in his film, winning an award was something beyond that.
News spread fast and Shyamji who was shooting in Hyderabad called me and congratulated me he spoke to me for almost ten minutes. Writer Ashok Mishra also spoke to me. It felt so good" says Amrita.
A Mumbai tabloid had recently reported that she had refused to do Shyam Benegal's next venture. "I don't think he offered it to me. I don't think I would ever be able to say no to Shyam Benegal unless I can't do justice to that role" she adds further.
Right now Amrota is looking forward to Anil Kapoor's next venture Shortkut. "The film is slated for an April release hence I am busy with the dubbing of the film. The film is a story oriented comedy. I am paired opposite Akshaye Khanna and working with him has been an altogether different experience. He is one of the best actors we have today." reveals Amrita.
This is the first time that Amrita has worked with director Neeraj Vora. The actress says "He's a fantastic director. It's a great experience working with Neeraj Vora essentially because he is a writer too.
His scenes and dialogue are so accurate and natural. And because he is an actor too he enacts every scene before taking his shot. It makes it very easy for the actor to understand what the director wants."
Apart from Chandraprakash Dwivedi's Kunal with ABCL, Amrita has no other film on floors now.
"I don't know when the movie is taking off. But yes I have not signed anything as yet. Nothing interesting has come my way. I believe that if a movie is destined for you it will come your way at the right time" she says and concludes.
