The boy, waiting impatiently for his passport to be returned to him, finally made it to Mumbai from Karachi to meet his terminally-ill grandfather.
Said Adnan emotionally, "I've been waiting for Azaan to show up, and this time not for me but my father. Azaan had school and passport problems. He finally arrived here in Mumbai on Monday at around noon."
Adnan's ailing father had not been told about Azaan's arrival. "I wanted it to be a surprise for my father."
And sure enough, Azaan's arrival brought a special glint into the old man's eyes. Says Adnan emotionally, "It took all off my acting powers to withhold information from my Dad about Azaan's arrival. But I'm glad I did.
The happiness that I saw in my father's eyes was worth the wait. For now I've been sidelined. It's my father and son the Dada-Pota pair that's taken over my home."
