It was high time, taking a cue from the famous Golden Raspberries Awards or the Razzies of Hollywood, someone started awards for honouring the worst of Bollywood films in India.

But now Random magazine has gone ahead and done that. It recently ‘proudly' announced the winners for the ‘Golden Kela Awards' giving film stars due accreditation for their performances in the form of a Golden Kela.

The Golden Kela Awards have set the record straight for what viewers think are the Best of very Worst of Indian Cinema!

There are numerous award ceremonies each year that celebrate the best of Hindi Cinema, but so far, there has not been one that celebrates the Worst. Despite the year-end lists and compilations by critics and TV channels of the Worst, there is no real voice announcing the worst cinematic excellence in a given year.

"If it is entertainment that matters, then audiences shall be given a platform to be vocal about their choices. Golden Kela Awards are inspired by the Golden Raspberries or the Razzies of America.

The nominations have been decided by the Magazine's board and the winners have been selected on the basis of an online poll", said Jatin Varma, Editor Random Magazine.

Golden Kela Awards have turned out to be one of the most enticing award ceremonies giving a voice to the Indian cinemagoers. Within a few days it has drawn the nation's attention for choosing deserving Kela performers for the Golden Kela. Sooner or later, the proud winners will be seen accepting their Kelas like any other trophy.

Renowned satirist and actor Mr. Jaspal Bhatti was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his invaluable contribution in generating ‘classless' comedy.

On receiving the award, Mr. Bhatti said, "This award was long due to me. The kind of unrelenting hard work and energy I've been putting to generate third-class comedy, I think I deserve it the best.

I hope that soon the Golden Kela becomes the symbol of shame in non-creativity. I'm thankful to all my stereotyping, low-thinking friends who have misguided me from time to time with their outmoded ideas. You can't discourage me by handing over this trophy of Lifetime Achievement. I'll keep the fire of obstinacy burning throughout my life." Bhatti added.
