Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor starrer Kambakkht Ishq and Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer Kaminey were due in the last week of May (May 29th) and first week of June (June 5th) respectively but now chances are they could be pushed further due to the ongoing revenue sharing issue between multiplexes and producer/distributors.
Industry insiders revealed, "If the on going revenue sharing issue is solved within the next three weeks only then it is possible for Kambakkht Ishq and Kaminey to arrive on their scheduled dates.
But given the extremely stubborn stand of both – the multiplex owners and the Producers Guild, at the moment it looks very unlikely as no headway has been made with talks between both parties with both sticking to their points.
We all know that a film requires 5-6 weeks promotion and the Producers Guild has banned all promotion of new films till there is an agreement with multiplexes on revenue sharing so therefore if the situation is resolved by mid April then Kambakkht Ishq and Kaminey can start promotion from that date. But the scenario at the moment suggests no early settlement.
Of course a producer can release his film early without any promotion but there is little chance of that with a biggie like Kambakkht Ishq as risk would be huge and even with Kaminey, release with little or no promotion is an unlikely.
