Film actress Aishwarya Rai is all set to storm Hollywood, having ‘conquered' Bollywood. "I have had some positive meetings with Hollywood agents while in the USA and some films could be announced in the near future," the former Ms World told reporters in Lucknow.
Incidentally, Ash has already clinched an English film, "Pride and Prejudice", which will be directed by Gurinder Chaddha of `Bend it like Beckham` fame. Rai, who was in Lucknow to attend the pre-release function of her latest movie `Dil Ka Rishta`, attributed the interest shown in her by the western film world to the international recognition of the Indian film industry. In reply to a question on the ability of Indian films to win Oscars, she said, "Instead of raising questions, we should support such films."
`Devdas`, in which Ms Rai co-stars Sharukh Khan, is India`s entry to this year`s academy awards in the best foreign film category. Asked if her signing of Rituparno Ghosh`s Bengali film `Chokher bali` showed an inclination towards art films, she said that every film was a work of art for her. The doe-eyed beauty also denied any plan to start a movie company on the lines of Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan saying her hands were "full at the moment".
