Helping them in this cause are the numerous gadgets from wrist watches to cameras to time-machines. This week's release Aa Dekhen Zara has Neil Nitin Mukesh playing a photographer who gets hold of a rare, special camera which helps him to see the future.
The camera becomes a constant companion to Neil (besides Bipasha) in his journey in the film. We take a trip down memory lane and a ride into the future to recollect some recent films where our actors have the unique privilege to re-visit the past or see the future.
Raaz- The Mystery Continues
This latest spook-fest from the Bhatt clan had Emraan Hashmi playing a painter and Kangna a supermodel. However, Emraan was no ordinary painter. He was gifted with the unique ability to see Kangna's future.
What's more he depicted her future through his paintings which enabled him to know exactly what was going to happen to her. Come to think of it, if Emraan had been blessed with this gift in real life, we're sure he would have used it to find out the B.O. performance of his films well in advance.
Krrish
This superhero flick starring Hrithik Roshan as Krrish took the nation by storm and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema. However, apart from the masked man, if there was one more thing which caught the fancy of young and old alike, it was the special 'Super Computer' created by the scientist- Hrithik Roshan.
The USP of this Super Computer was that one could see one's future and it was this very fact that catches the fancy of the evil businessman played by Naseeruddin Shah.Krrish went on to be a blockbuster however the same cannot be said about most of the films these days.
With most films flopping left, right and centre such a 'Super Computer' would surely help our film-wallahs to invest in the right project which would fetch them maximum returns.br>
Love Story 2050
When filmmaker Harry Baweja decided to launch son Hurman in a magnificent time travel tale, everyone thought this would be India's answer to the sci-fi flicks that Hollywood produces.
However this story of a 'madly in love' boy entering a time machine to find his love in Mumbai year 2050 failed to strike a chord with the audiences.
While the special effects were commendable, the script failed to hold its own and unlike some of the Hollywood flicks, the thought of entering a time machine and taking a ride into the future didn't go well with our junta-janardhan.
End Result...Hurman's much hyped debut flick fell like a pack of cards and left the makers with a big hole in their pocket.
If only Hurman had a real time-machine, he would have indeed wanted to take a ride into the future and find out if acting is the right vocation for him or if something bigger and better awaits him.
8x10 Tasveer
After using gadgets as diverse as a camera, a Super computer and a Time machine to explore the past and unravel the future, our Bollywood filmmakers are now opting for something zara hatke.
So in Nagesh Kukunoor's forthcoming Akshay Kumar starrer 8x10 Tasveer you have Akshay using 8x10 size photographs to take a trip down memory lane and unravel a mystery.
Whether the film lives up to its expectations or is best forgotten as a mistake of the past is something one will have to wait and watch.
Kal Kissne Dekha
Given a choice we all would love to see what the future holds in store for us. But as they say Kal Kissne Dekha? Well...as of now it is only debutant Jackky Bhagnani who has the power to see the future.
Based on the basic idea of 'Premonition' this much hyped flick stars Jackky as a young boy next door who is gifted with a rare ability to see things minutes before they actually occur.
It is this very power that helps him overcome numerous challenges and emerge a hero. With the release of his film just a few weeks away, Jackky surely would have wished for such powers in real life too.
