While his second signed Hindi film, Striker is in the making for over two years, he doesn't seem to be making any headway in Bollywood. He has been more in the news in Bollywood town over his on and off affair with his Rang De co-star Soha Ali Khan than for his work.
Now an industry insider has revealed what is the reason for him being not taken seriously in Bollywood.
The industry insider reveals, "Siddharth was approached by none other than Aamir Khan for his home production Delhi Belly. They both had worked together in RDB and Aamir was pretty impressed by his working style.
But Aamir was left stumped when Siddharth quoted his price as Rs. 2 crore. Aamir was planning the film to be a medium budget sex comedy and hearing such high price from practically a novice in Bollywood, he was amused.
From then on, he just didn't remove the topic again with Siddharth and signed on a much better (n cheaper) home grown hero in his nephew Imran Khan for the film."
Siddharth is a big name in Telugu film industry what with his super duper hits like Bommarillu etc but he is yet to achieve consistent success in here to quote the price which he tends to get down South.
Probably he should learn from R. Madhavan who is a much bigger name than Siddharth in South and is still realistic when it comes to Bollywood films.
