Even in the film industry, there is some competition brewing up between Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Abhay Deol, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shahid Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade.
The ones responsible for this? UTV, which is now looking at re-releasing movies of each of these actors who have delivered commercial as well as critical successes in last few months.
In a unique campaign this season where producers v/s multiplexes stand off is not showing signs of any resolution and audiences have been robbed of big screen entertainment, UTV has come up with their latest ‘mantra' - ‘Vote Do Movie Dekho ‘.
In what is being termed as a ‘UTV Movie Mela', UTV is reaching out to the ‘aam junta' and asking them to vote in favor of the films that they would like to see on theatres.
Since there are no chances of any new films being released, older ones like Jodha Akhbar, Race, A Wednesday, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Fashion, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Aamir, Kismat Konnection and Welcome to Sajjanpur are being revived. Says an official from UTV, "We are cognizant of the fact that audiences are becoming restless due to lack of any movies at the multiplexes. This is why we are soon going to start the ‘UTV Movie Mela'.
Each of the movies shown in this ‘mela' would be the ones that audiences have enjoyed on their release. Hence, we are giving them an option to choose their favourite five films from this list. The five movies that receive the maximum votes will be re-released in the theatres!"
At the moment, voting has been opened by UTV on social networking site Facebook where thousands of users can choose the films that they would want to watch all over again.
Any choices?
