The versatile actor Mithun Chakraborty is re-launching his son, Mimoh Chakraborty through one of the oldest and the reputed entertainment company, Aftab Pictures (P) Ltd. which is in existence since almost four decades. The film is titled as The Murderer.

Producer Salim Akhtar is the Managing Director of Aftab Pictures (P) Ltd., who started out as a film distributor in 1972 in Kolkata. In 1977 he purchased the world rights of Amitabh – Waheeda starrer Adalat, before producing his first film Choron Ki Baarat in 1977 with Shatrughan Sinha and Neetu Singh in the lead.

Then followed the multi-starrer film Batwara, Badal, Baazi, Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat and so on, with 31 films in his kitty as a producer. The Murderer is his new venture which has all the commercial ingredients, be it drama, music, dance, action and thrills and sure to hit the pot of gold.

The Murderer is a musical thriller with a nail-biting finish. Mimoh Chakraborty a.k.a. Rocky has a full-fledged performance oriented role in the film. He plays a successful pop singer in Hotel Hamilton Palace.

He is basically popular with girls; all wanting to befriend him. Monalisa a.k.a. Neha is his co-performer and is silently in love with Rocky. Unaware of her feelings, Rocky treats her as his best friend.

There is one more girl, Simran a.k.a. Mahima is madly in love with him. But Rocky is in love with Priyanka, who plays Madhu and is a guest staying in the hotel. Neha is jealous of Rocky's love affair....

The love triangle heats up when Mahima spurned by Rocky, commits suicide. Rocky is filled with guilt due to this unfortunate incident. But before he could regain his composure, Rocky finds himself in a plethora of chaos and tries to prove his innocence....

There are fast paced action and complex developments and Rocky is trying to come out of this knotty situation...

Mimoh Chakraborty, new find Simran, Madhu, Monalisa, Raza Murad, Milind Gunaji, Vishwajit Pradhan, Shanti Priya, Sheela Sharma with Shakti Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana are in the cast.

Being produced by Salim, the film is directed by veteran Raj N. C. Sippy. Based on a script by Ranbir Pushp, the film has cinematography by S. Pappu, choreography by Chinni Prakash, art by Pappu Mishra, action by Mahmood Akbar Bakshi and editing by M. Rafique.

Lyrics are penned by Ibrahim Ashq while Sohail Sen has provided the musical composition. Shama Akhtar is the co-producer while Samad Akhtar is the associate producer. Ishaque – Masuda presents the film.

The film will have a worldwide release on May 29.
