Salman Khan will shed his ‘bratty' image to play Lord Ram in his home production, which is tentatively titled Ramayana. G.S. Entertainment (film production company jointly run by Salman and good friend Bunty Walia) has announced that Ramayana will be a period drama against the backdrop of ancient temples, palaces and monuments.

The film, to be made at the astronomical sum of Rs. 100 crore, will have Salman playing Lord Ram and brother Sohail as Laxman.Salman is reported to be scouting for a foreign actress to play the role of Sita, as the movie will be a bilingual to be made in both Hindi and English to target the international audience.

To wield megaphone for the movie, Salman will rope in two directors – one to direct the Hindi film and the other from Hollywood for the English version. Talks are also on to involve a Hollywood studio in film's production. While a part of the film will be shot in Ayodhya, the Banwaas period of Lord Rama's life will be shot in the jungles of New Zealand.
