Tabu is known as the thinking actress. These days, she can be seen reading, writing and spending time with her mother. The real reason why she has free time to call her own, is the new Vishal Bhardwaj film Maqbool, an Indianised version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. The film which co-stars the phenomenally talented duo of Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and the newcomer Kay Kay in pivotal roles of the three witches. The small difference being that they play cops in Maqbool. According to the director, since the film "is going to be shot in sync sound and would take away the principal actors` energies" the actors are required to attend a workshop conducted by Shah for two weeks prior to the actual shooting. That is likely to begin by mid-March this year.
Right now, the Hyderabad born actress is doing all the reading she can and following up on all the material that has been handed over to her, which obviously includes the Shakespearean play's copy too since she will enact the role of Lady Macbeth. That's the spirit, Tabu. Do one film at a time and give it your all. And even if at the end of the film's shoot you do feel drained out, the accolades and numerous awards for your performance will be reward enough to sink your teeth into your next project.
