All because of the strike. It's like you've given your exams but the results just keep on getting postpone. You are anxiously awaiting your results. I hope I come out with flying colours in my Kal Kissne Dekha subject. Its nerve wrecking and nail biting time now."
But the way Vaishali started off was different. No message, no film talks, no gossips. It was only Jackky Bhagnani; as a prankster, as a dancer, his shortcomings and his fitness regime. Then Miss Beautiful Smile blows her own trumpet. Why not?
We've known a lot about Kal Kissne Dekha more than any other film in the last two months. But for the first time ever, Devansh Patel brings you the never before heard Vaishali Desai in this exclusive rapid fire we play in hot summer.
Jackky Bhagnani a prankster:
He is a very big prankster. A lot of people think that he is very sweet on the set but it's not the truth always. He is always playing pranks on people. He is very restless and can't sit in one place. When his shot is going to take a while or if he is not shooting, he is doing something or the other.
Jackky's shortcomings:
I'd rather talk about my shortcomings than some one else's. Because we both are new comers, we both have shortcomings. I'm sure he'll know his own shortcomings. He has always been a thorough professional.
Jackky as a dancer:
I'd give him an eight out of ten because everybody has a scope for improvement and I think I wanted to do much better than he is doing (laughs). So I give him eight on ten. I'd give myself seven on ten just to make Jackky feel good (laughs).
Jackky's fitness regime:
Jackky is very particular about his food. I sometimes have burgers, pastas, etc but he avoids all the junk in the world. He even advices me on what not to have and what to as he is a fitness freak. We've worked out together for a year. He still gives me a lot of fitness tips.
Vaishali's fitness regime:
I start my day with a vegetable juice. It can be palak or dudhi (lauki). Then with two brown breads I have an egg white omlette. Lunch comprises of two chapati's and two vegetable curries with no oil along with some salad and cold set yoghurt.
But before all the above, I kick start my healthy day with jogging, some sea side exercise, aerobics and sometimes a bit of yoga. I am now on a thrice a week schedule from twice a week and do not do any weight training.
Vaishali Desai a food-o-holic:
Starting from South Africa, our first schedule, Vashuji had this whole kitchen on wheels. We had cooks from India flown in. I used to have a lot of salad but I did a lot of normal food like sabji, roti, and soups in between.
While I was shooting on the sets, I'd have a sugar free tea and protein biscuits, fruits every two hours. Sandwiches and salt free food could also be seen on my platter.
Vaishali Desai a shop-o-holic:
I didn't get to shop too much. Yes, I am a shop-o-holic but this time my mother took care of it. Wherever I go, I like to pick up soft toys for my younger sister Haryali. Mom just picked up one from New Zealand for her.
While we were shooting in Bangkok, I got about thirty pairs of shoes, lots of clothes in South Africa, because it was very cold, I got to buy only souvenirs (laughs).
Brand conscious Vaishali:
Actually I love rasta shopping. But when it comes to my jeans, I am very particular. I love Pepe Jeans. It doesn't really matter which brand of t-shirt I am wearing because I pick them up sometimes from any small boutiques too.
Though I love some of the tee's from Mango. I think they fit me well. I am not fond of jewellery and accessories. Watches too are not something I like wearing. Sometimes I do and again it has to be a branded one (laughs).
Vaishali's favorite designers:
I've worked with all the designers while I was modeling. But to answer your question, my favourite designer is Sabyasachi. I love his ethnic dresses, especially the blouses that he has with sarees.
I love to be dressed by him. I also liked Manish Malhotra's dresses in Dostana. I like Surili Goel for casuals and Sunit Varma for his red carpet gowns that he designs. Tarun Tahiliani is good for his ensemble collection and Rohit Bal is best for his white and beige collection.
Vaishali's favourite hot-spot:
We did a two month trip to South Africa and shot in places like Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. But from all three destinations, Durban was the hot-spot. We were put up in a Hotel near valleys and some mountains in the backdrop. It felt like no body has ever shot a film there. It was that scenic.
New Zealand was very exotic and I loved it the most. Lake Tekapo and Omarama were beautiful. We did a lot of water shots there as the water was crystal clear. You could see your reflection in the water which was quite amazing. We stayed at the Royal Cliff Resort and did a lot of shopping there.
Vaishali's gothic look:
'Tere Bina' is a beautiful song and is quite touching. It's romantic and hurts a lot too. I have a gothic look in the song where I wear a black dress with a black tear rolling down my cheek. It's got a gothic feel to it. I've never looked so horribly beautiful (laughs).
