Govinda has teamed up Subhash Ghai for the first time and hence we are being promised a comedy called Ek Aur Ek Gyarah. If the music is any indicator, happy days will be here again for the trio as the definite hit soundtrack probably means they will have a good chance to repeat another hit film in their long list of films together. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are definitely just what the doctor ordered in this day and age of Anu Malik´s and Nadeem-Shravan`s. Even lyricist Sameer seems full of life.
The album opens with Beimaan Mohabbat by KK, Shankar Mahadevan and Gayatri. KK is his usual lively self adding that zest definitely needed for this type of song. Shankar is there for a short time and Gayatri seems like a welcome addition to Bollywood as a playback singer. A great opening number for a Govinda film which lately have had nothing to write home about.
Main Jogia is next with Udit Narayan, Sneha Pant and Shankar. This is another one of the zesty numbers for the duo along with the props known as heroines in Dhawan´s films. Next we have Thoda Sona Ka Rang with Sneha Pant and Udit Narayan. A slow romantic number which is a nice rest from the last two peppy numbers. Sneha puts life into this romantic number with Udit lending able support. Perhaps picturized on Govinda and Amrita Arora.
The title track is next. Sung by the duo of Sonu Nigam and Shankar Mahadevan, it is perhaps the best male-duet composed in the last 2-3 years. Sonu is in full form along with Shankar describing how 1 + 1 = 11. If you don`t feel like getting up and at least snapping your fingers from hearing this song, then it`s safe to say you must not be awake.
O Dushmana with Soumya Raoh and Sonu Nigam is next. Another fast number with Soumya describing the moment to her enemy. A nice seductive number in this male-dominated soundtrack. Abhijeet and Babul Supriyo are next in the album with Yeh Man Mera. A folksy song describing how love is uncontrollable is basically what this number is. The song seems somewhat inspired from "Radha Kaise Na Jale" from Lagaan. The number definitely slows the pace down of the album and looks to be a situational song for the film.
Two more versions of the title song close the album with the first by Udit and Shankar Mahadevan and the next with Sonu Nigam and Shankar Mahadevan like the first version. This definitely is the best Dhawan-Govinda-Sanju album of all the films the trio have done together. The album has it all musically. Even in terms of the film, this is the biggest that these three have done when one considers the large budget and banner. Mukta Arts films don´t come every day to these three and now is their time to show what they can do together. The trio definitely need this film to work, by hook or by crook.
