Aditya Chopra's first cousin Vikram Singh is soon turning director with a mega budget film. But if you are thinking it will be under Yash Raj banner then you are mistaken. Vikram Singh's maiden film shall be produced by Sunil Shetty's banner, Popkorn Entertainment.

Sources reveal, "Vikram had wanted to make his film for a long time now but some way or the other things were just not falling into place for him. The film was planned with John Abraham in the lead then it was learnt that John's Dostana co -star Abhishek Bachchan had replaced him with Aishwarya Rai starring opposite him.

But now the latest buzz is that it will have Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role. The rest of the cast and crew members are currently being finalized and the film shall go on the floors by January 2010.

We wish Vikram Singh too manages to carve the same niche that his more illustrious cousin did with his first film, the super duper hit, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge.
